Guest Post by Selena Anne

Dear Friends of my Momma,

Momma is soooooo busy, she doesn't have a lot of time to post, but I didn't want you guys to wonder how we were doing for too much longer! I had a wonderful holiday, so I wanted to share some pictures with you. I hope you enjoy them. Mommy will be back soon to write some more!

I have to go help Mommy with the laundry and then we have to go shopping. By the way, I got my own potty last week. Mommy would appre - SHE - ate any tips for potty training. Sometimes I tell her when I have to go potty, but sometimes I forget. But she and Daddy say thats ok because I am still little.

Hi Lena!
I enjoyed your slide show! Thanks for filling in for your mommy while she's so busy. Have fun doing the laundry and going shopping-- I just did some of that myself.
Uncle Mark and I had lots of fun with you on Saturday and we're so proud of you for being such a good girl. We'll have to do it again sometime.
I'll see you on Friday!

Kiss kiss,
Auntie Beka

Selena, Thank you for filling in for your Mommy. What a good helper you are!! I have missed reading her blogs lately! I know she's busy, but I keep checking anyway. Hopefully, she'll post soon! I waited 'til my sons were 2 years old before I trained them - I rewarded them - with M&M's - that did the trick for me.

I am glad that you did a guest post for your mommy. You are a very literate little girl!! I think you will have a love for writing yourself when you grow up!

The pictures are beautiful. thank you for sharing.

As for potty-training tips, the only thing I will say is not to push. I tried to potty train Gabrielle (Ella) when she was about 15 months, and I obsessed about it. That caused problems on her part, and she began to withhold going, which created horrible constipation. That brought about pain, which further kept her from wanting to go, leading to more constipation, etc. etc. It was a vicious cycle, that lasted a LONG time. Finally, I backed off and let her take it at her own speed. She was instantaneously potty-trained in one day...however, it was not until almost exactly her third birthday. I learned from that experience and let my next child do it in his time, and it also was instantaneous, at almost his third birthday. I know that many people think that is late, but I have learned that I don't have to do what people think I should be doing. I have learned to do what works for me and to shut out the voices that would discourage me or make me feel inferior.

Blessings,
Patti (Ella's mom)

For some reason Nanna can't see the slide show. Are you teasing me again? I guess I better try the other computer. As you know, my laptop's very finicky.
I know what a good helper you are--I've seen it for myself. Have fun!!
