Little Things

Little things have always made me happy. When I was little and something would make me sad, my mom would say, "What would make you happy today?"
I would answer, "Fish sticks for lunch!"

Well, something little has made me really happy. And that is ...

... Da da DUMMMMMMM!!!!!

We have been living in our new home for nine months now, and as of Saturday, Selena has a library card! I am envisioning many afternoons combing through the bookshelves and finding the hidden treasures that await us. I didn't know that the library would grant a 13 month old a card of her own, but I am so excited that they did. My idea of pure bliss was living next door to a library, so I hope that Selena will feel the same way.

So for the next many years, Lord willing, happy reading to our family!

Yaaay! The library is still a favorite place for me. I love the way it smells. I'm sure Lena will have many happy days ther.

So now I know from whom I got my love of fishsticks from! ;-) I can already envision both of you sitting on the couch snuggled up with blankets on a cool, fall day reading books.....it makes my own heart warm.

Oh, the library. I always wanted to be a librarian! Our new church has a library, and my husband said, "You should be the librarian! It's your dream!" :) - in all my spare time, I suppose.

This is so sweet - I love that first time of checking out books on their little cards!

Yay for library cards! I remember our frequent, happy visits to the library when we were growing up. I can't believe little Lena has her very own library card!

Oh how proud I was having my own library card! Every librarian in our little town used to know me back then because I read about 15 books a week and everytime I went to the library I could hardly lift my treasures home :-)

Have a lot of fun, Lena - there are so many many worlds to explore in books!

Congrats!! :) Rick (my husband) and I have decided there are library people and there are bookstore people. I would love to be library person, but I'm afraid I'm not. I spend far too much money on books!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them, but it would ease our budget if I would just go to the library instead. Maxine mentioned the smell of the library. That's actually one of the reasons I don't like our library. LOL! Happy reading, everyone!!

I got a blogspot too, so you could read mine if you want to. It was nice seeing you for a little bit last month. Hope you're doing well.

The little things in life...yes they sometimes make us the happiest. I take care of a little fellow who is 3 years old, he just loves books. At his quiet time (for me and them hehe) Jackson will take a book and look through it and then place it on the floor, then take another book and do the same etc,etc...when I enter the room he has around 7-10 books lined up on the floor, he is such a joy to take care of. We were just at the Library on Friday searching through books.

My husband always said books are the best thing for children, it expands their mind. Behind me in our office and all around this room and throughout our house are books. My husband is a avid reader and has been since he was a child.
He has at least 3-4 books on the go and 3 different devotionals he does daily. One time this lady told he reads too much, he just smiled.

So enjoy your reading with your little one and I am sure she will enjoy listening to you.
