Thank you all for the birthday wishes. How sweet. It really touched me to hear from all of you. I did have a lovely day. My hubby and I were able to go out alone. We've somehow forgotten to do this in months, and it was special. Lena had fun with PopPop, Nanna and Auntie Nee while we were gone. It reminded me of the days when God was knitting our hearts together. I'll have to save that story for an anniversary post! I did miss my sweet one while we were out, but several times had to force myself not to call to check on her (one of these times I was forced by my husband!)
Secondly, I have some business to take care of for Connie! She tagged me, and although I had already done this meme, I wanted to link to it here for her. Since I only listed seven things, and her post called for eight, I owe her one more. Here it is:
8. I am deathly afraid of chickens and turkeys. When I was five, I was chased by a turkey on a kindergarten field trip. I have never recovered!!
Finally for today, I wanted to leave you with this poem. I found this jewel in the book A Woman's High Calling by Elizabeth George. You may be able to guess why this book means a lot to me ...

A Little Place
author unknown
"Where shall I work today, dear Lord?"
And my love flowed warm and free.
He answered and said,
"See that little place?
Tend that place for Me."
I answered and said, "Oh no, not there!"
No one would ever see.
No matter how well my work was done,
Not that place for me!"
His voice, when He spoke, was soft and kind,
He answered me tenderly,
"Little one, search that heart of thine,
Are you working for them or ME?
Nazareth was a little place ...
So was Galilee."
I hope this little poem encourages all of you today in the middle of your laundry, cleaning, cooking, teaching, working ...
I'll be here
in my little place.

Oh, Bev, that poem is precious. I don't know how I missed that one. Enjoy yourself in your little place today. This was a great reminder for all of us of what it's really all about.
Beverly, I love the poem. It is very special. Thanks also for the extra thing to let us know you better. connie
What a beautiful poem and a reminder to be content with the place we are supposed to be!
And a belated happy birthday (((hugs))).
That was a good poem. Thanks for posting it.
I did this "Me" meme also, when you have time to take a look, please do.

What a beautiful poem! Yes, we had LOADS of fun with the little primcess. We will have to do it again soon so that you and E can have some more dates. :-)
What a precious little poem! I will write it out on a card and hang it in my kitchen.
I'm so glad your birthday was a happy one, and that you and E were able to have a date!
Hope your Monday is going along nicely!
Oh, how lovely - I had never read that poem before! Thank you for sharing it - it spurs me on! I think I, like Beka, shall post it, too! Perhaps these busy days of packing will be better centered when I am reminded of who I serve...and Who...
And I'm so glad you had a night out with hubby! I know the feeling, of trying to resist calling to check on the little one - I still do it! And we find ourselves talking about them the whole evening, too. At least the first couple of hours.
Anyway, try to do it more often - go out, I mean - it's good for you! :)
Yes Beverly, I can see why you like that poem! It just seems to sum up all the things you always write about in your posts. Thanks for sharing!
